WELCOME TO THE PIANO STUDIO OF DIANA MUNCH!
I teach piano students from ages five through adult! My goal is to give all my students a well-rounded music education. In college, I read a book called Education and Ecstasy, which really spoke to me about the best way to learn. It talked about students learning best when they are highly motivated. I try hard to find repertoire that students can really get excited about! My students have several opportunities to showcase their work and perform for public in both competitive and non-competitive settings.
I believe it is important that my students have a solid technical foundation and exposure to music from all musical periods and styles. All of my students can play their Classical period repertoire on my fortepiano or their Baroque repertoire on my harpsichord, so they have a better idea how to make this music work on the modern piano.
In addition, I welcome harpsichord and fortepiano students. I teach basics of period performance techniques of harpsichord and fortepiano style as well as figured bass playing. Harpsichord and fortepiano students are required to have access to instruments for regular practice.
